About the Founder

Jael Ramon

Born in the renowned city of Taxco, Mexico, a hub of silver artistry and craftsmanship, I was immersed in the world of jewelry from a young age. With both my grandmother and grandfather as skilled jewelers, I grew up amidst a rich tapestry of tradition, artistry, and craftsmanship. After relocating to the United States, my mother preserved this cherished family legacy by establishing Dalia's Silver Lining in 2002, a jewelry boutique in Kansas City, Missouri. Although I ventured into various academic and professional fields, the magnetic allure of jewelry consistently drew me back.

When my mother and stepfather faced significant health challenges, I embraced the responsibility of managing the family business, dedicating myself to its growth and to honoring the heritage that has been the cornerstone of our family’s story. My travels to Southeast Asia, including Bali, introduced me to a dazzling array of jewelry designs. Each island revealed its own unique aesthetic, from intricate silver filigree to vibrant gemstone settings, reflecting a rich cultural tapestry.

This introduction to Bali’s jewelry came at a pivotal moment, as Mexico faced growing socio-political challenges exacerbated by the pandemic. Many jewelers left the industry, making it increasingly difficult to sustain the traditional craft. The beauty and diversity of Southeast Asian designs ignited my excitement about the prospect of bringing these remarkable pieces to the American market. This enthusiasm led to the formation of Damai Designs, a venture dedicated to blending global artistry with our family’s time-honored tradition and revitalizing the legacy of jewelry craftsmanship.

Rooted in Tradition

Honoring the Spirit of Bali

Each piece from Damai Designs is handcrafted to reflect the artistry, symbolism, and timeless beauty of Bali’s cultural heritage.

Crafted by Hand

Guided by Tradition

At Damai Designs, every piece of jewelry is handmade with care and intention. Our artisans don’t rely on machines—they rely on time-honored techniques, steady hands, and an eye for detail that only comes from years of experience. Each item is shaped, carved, and polished in small batches, ensuring quality and individuality that mass production simply can’t replicate.

What makes our craftsmanship truly special is the lineage behind it. Many of our jewelers come from families who have passed down their skills for generations—some tracing back centuries. These traditions are more than just techniques; they are living expressions of heritage and pride. When you wear Damai, you carry with you the spirit of generations dedicated to beauty, precision, and art.
